Just installed inDesign 16.1 and the control pallet keeps disapearing and will not turn back on

Just installed inDesign 16.1 and the control pallet keeps disapearing and will not turn back on under window>control. The only way to get it back is to use adifferent workspace preset then switch back to the one I set up. Any clue as to why this happens

I would try to delete InDesign preferences

Using a keyboard shortcut:

(Windows) Start InDesign, and then immediately press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files. ...
(Mac OS) Start InDesign, and then immediately press Shift+Option+Command+Control. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
