Question

Keeping a page number in a text box updated

I have tried googling first, but I don't even know how to word this.

I have a text box in a book I am doing that says

Serve as is or cover with the mole sauce (see page 165).

Is there a way to keep that "165" updated automatically as the page with the mole sauce changes page numbers (because pages being shifted, etc) Just like there is a way to keep table of contents constantly updated, is there a way to do a single number such as this?

Thank you in advance

Oh, this is in CS6 for mac.

Yes. Add a text anchor on the mole sauce heading, then add a cross-reference to reference the page number of the text anchor.

Insert and manage cross-references in InDesign

Thank you! I just couldn't think of the right terms to use for this.

I know. That can be the hardest part.
