Question

Lag time when trying to move InDesign application frame

Several months ago, after one of the application updates,  I noticed I can no longer move the InDesign frame around on my desktop as freely as I could before. There’s a definite lag time where I have to wait—sometimes up to 30 seconds—before it’ll let me. I’m on an iMac and using only one monitor, so I’m constantly needing to shuffle windows around and that lag time adds up. It’s worth noting that I have the same issue at the office and at home; 2 different operating systems (Ventura and Sequoia), both using InDesign 2026. I’ve tried deleting my preferences and reinstalling InDesign. Neither helped.

    Hi AD,

How full is your hard drive?

How much RAM are you running with?

    What patch version of macOS?

How do you feel about Cmd+Tab between open applications (instead of dragging screens around)?

I have 614 GB of 1 TB remaining on hard drive.

    40 GB 2667 MhZ DDR4

    Sequoia Version 15.7.3

I wasn’t aware of Cmd + Tab, so thanks for pointing that out. I’m so used to dragging, but I’ll try it out.
