Large Files Dont open in Trial

Hey, i was just wondering if there is a file restriction size limit on the free trial of Adobe InDesign. I can open 10MB files but not 50MB files?

Correct answer Derek Cross

I have an M1 MacBook Air with 8 GB RAM. I have some files that open easily but then when I double click on them in Finder to open them it brings me to the InDesign app but only to the homepage. I was looking at some other comments and they said they were having similar problems and only the 2024 version worked for them.  It is probably not the file size that is inhibiting them from opening, but that is the only thing that I noticed that was different between the files.

You need at least 16GB of RAM.

I'd suspect your system specs/limits, here. How much RAM does your system have? (Along with other basic specs...)

No. Something else is going on.

Kk I just looked and it seems like it is a problem with the new adobe 2025 version of InDesign. Its frustrating because I have the free trial and it ends in a couple of days but I cant open the files I want to open. Hope an update comes soon that fixes that problem!! 🙃

What does exactly happen when you "can't open" the files? Also, what's your operating system version? There's no issue in InDesign 2025 that would prevent it from opening 50 MB files so, as David has already said, there's something else.
