You can try to start up InDesign while holding Shift-Control-Option-command (Startup Alert - Delete InDesign Preference files): Yes, this works, but then when you close the app and re open, it's the same issue, crashing on launch. Also, all your preferences are lost each time.

But I just noticed that my Mac OS was on Ventura 13.2, whereas 13.5 is available, I just wasn't getting an alert or automatic updates. I had to go to System Settings / General / Software Update and do it manually.

I'm hoping this resolves the issue.

Hi @Scotty12 and @MrMeeseeks ,

are you working with a new MacBook Pro with the M2 chip?

I've tried both otpions for Mac but all of the folders were set to Read & Write but when I tried the Terminal option it just came back saying: no such file or directory: my username

Sounds like you are not using your actual username, but the [username] placeholder as a literal.

I've been having the same problem as of today. I've uninstalled InDesign and currently reinstalling. If that doesn't work, I'll try the other suggestions made here. Very annoying! 😞

In addition to @Peter Spier's good suggestion, in case there is something in your old preferences or caches that are interfering, you can try restoring the InDesign preferences and caches:

Use the cleaner tool: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to solve installation problems to remove it, then when you reinstall make sure you do NOT import the old preferences.
