Layers are not syncing across the book

I have four layers all numbered. 1 and 2 will sync across the book files but 3 and 4 will not. Its very frustrating.

Any hints or is this another wonder of indesign?

could you show, perhaps with screenshots, what you'd expect InDesign to do by syncing layers.

I'm not very clear what you like to do.

Inspiring

Hi sorry I am back. I found a solution to this but since a reinstall of windows cannot remember how I fixed it.

One document is my main document for syncing across a book. In there is 4 layers.

When the book is synced the other documents have three layers, not the four.

I fixed this but cannot remember how.
