Completely aware that pdfs should be transfered for printing, but these files are for a book interior and the printer requires native files.

Have a purchased and licensed font being activated over and Enterpise environment using Universal type Client. Font in question is HeiTASC-Medium;

We purchased this font so we have the right to use and transfer. Just curious as to why it wont package. The only thing I see is that is true type.

Indesigns package report reads:

FONTS
11 Fonts Used; 0 Missing, 0 Embedded, 0 Incomplete, 0 Protected

Fonts Not Packaged
- Name: HeiTASC-Medium; Type: OpenType TrueType, Status: OK
- Name: STSong; Type: TrueType, Status: OK
Fonts Packaged (etc.)
- Name: Avenir-Medium; Type: Type 1, Status: OK
- Name: BrandonText-Light; Type: OpenType Type 1, Status: OK
- Name: BrandonText-Regular; Type: OpenType Type 1, Status: OK
- Name: BrandonText-RegularItalic; Type: OpenType Type 1, Status: OK
- Name: Merendina-Bold; Type: OpenType Type 1, Status: OK
- Name: Merendina-Medium; Type: OpenType Type 1, Status: OK
- Name: Merendina-Regular; Type: OpenType Type 1, Status: OK
- Name: MinionPro-Regular; Type: OpenType Type 1, Status: OK

Correct answer Dov Isaacs

Bob Levine's response is correct. For historical legal reasons, InDesign does not package CJK (Asian Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) fonts. No workaround, sorry.

What OS? If it’s Catalina could be a permissions problem with Extensis.

Packaging a font doesn't look at embedding restrictions. The only fonts that don't get packaged are CJK and Adobe Fonts through Creative Cloud.

Both fonts would appear to fit in the first category.

HeiTASC-Medium and ST Song seem to be Chinese fonts, so as Bob Levine wrote, they cannot be packaged.
