Linking text changes within InDesign to original imported word file.

Can I setup and link text changes within InDesign with the original MS-word file? I know that the reverse is true; changes in MS-Word linked to the imported to InDesign.

Thank you, Bob. That is a helpful and quick solution and one that I will contemplate and bring to my editor's attention. We are a small magazine and dealing with 1,200 word count files or smaller. Price will be key.
