Links Containing Hash Anchors Disappear When Placing From Word

Hi Guys,

I have been handed a fairly long word document containing plenty of hyperlinks that I'm placing into InDesign and sprucing up. However upon placing the .doc into InDesign (while preserving styles and formatting and all of that good stuff) I'm finding that some of the hyperlinks are disappearing.

It seems that all links that end in ".htm" or ."html" are fine. However, links that are pointing to a specific area of an external page (these links all end in ".htm#37.102", as an example) are no longer there. The text for that link retains its underlined blue formatting, however. Additionally, upon highlighting and right-clicking that specific block of text, I don't have the Hyperlink option available to me.

Has anyone experienced this or found a solution? I'd hate to go back into the word doc, remove all of the anchored links, re-place the document then add them back in manually in InDesign. I'd still be doing it next year!

Thanks!
Richy

I'm having the same problem and haven't found a solution.

Hyperlinks with a # that work in Word do not import into Indesign, or appear in the Hyperlinks panel. Additionally I can't create a new hyperlink on the text that should have the hyperlink in it.
