Links not coming in at correct size when relinking in InDesign 17.4

Working on several multi-page projects and was alerted by a client that some of the images did not come in at the proper size (i.e. images moving position within the picture frame) when updating to our color corrected images that were saved out of Photoshop 2022 23.5.1. The color work was done and re-saved (not Save As) and they did not update in the same position. The only way to resolve this was to uncheck the Auto-fit button for the picture box which I have never ever had to do on an individual box basis before.

Had another project where simple RGB AI files were converted to CMYK in Illustrator 2022 26.5 and resaved (again not Save As - just a Save) and after updating the link in InDesign, those are coming in cropped/scaled differently than the original. For testing purposes, I did the same process and saved the image out of Illustrator 2021 25.4.8 and they update at the proper size.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues where things don't update in the proper position despite not changing any image cropping or bounding boxes?

Hi @Andy5C85 ,

make sure that Content Aware Fitting of image comtents is turned off with your graphic frames that contain the pictures.

Uwe,

That was one of the first things I checked and Content Aware Fitting is turned off.
