I have divided Links panel with Link info divider that suits my needs, it is saved with my workspace, but everytime I open Indesign, it is divided wrong way and wastin lot of space in bottom of Link info.

How do I force Indesign to remember panel settings?

When you set up the links panel did you have any documents open? If you did then try doing it without any documents open. Once you have the panel as you want it create it as a new workspace with a new name and immediately quit the program. This should lock in the new workspace. Upon reopening InDesign you can then delete the older workspace and then rename the new one if you wish to have it with the original name.

I have the same effect, but I know this is due to a bug where ID wouldn't save the workspace settings when closing it after a full day's work, because then ID usually crashes. This bug is already a topic here, but only solved in beta channel releases and not official yet.

Hi @michaljanata,

Thanks for reaching out. I can see how this would be frustrating. I tested this on InDesign 20.3.1, and it does retain the panel settings, including the Link Info divider position, even after closing and reopening the app.

Could you share a screenshot or describe how the panel looks when it's working correctly on your end? That would help us better understand your expected setup.

In the meantime, after setting the divider to your preferred position, go to Window > Workspace > New Workspace and save it under a new name. Avoid overwriting the existing one. Then, switch to another workspace and switch back to the one you just saved. Quit and reopen InDesign to see if the divider position is retained.

If the issue continues, please let me know the InDesign version you're using and your operating system. Also, does this happen before opening a document, or only after loading one? A short screen recording would be helpful to share with the team.

Looking forward to your update.
