Do you mean that the problem is that there is no content in Links panel and there should be? Do you mean you don't want a link to appear in the Links panel?

Please state clearly what you are expecting. Also tell us what InDesign version and what operating system you're running.

Hi Jack:

If the bitmap image you place is 48K or smaller (which is tiny), InDesign automatically embeds the full‑resolution image instead of the screen-resolution version in your layout. If it is over 48K, the file is linked. InDesign displays these images in the Links panel.

If the reason you are asking this question is because you are struggling with link management, you can right click the link in the Links panel and embed the image. This might be ok for a few images, but is not the recommended workflow if you have lots of images. If you have questions about link management, this is a good place to ask them.
