Looking for shortcut to "Break link to paragraph style"

Hi everyone. I am looking for a way to make a keyboard shortcut to “Break link to paragraph style”. I have tried to do it the usual way, but when I use the new shortcut, it changes (its not kept as it is). Does anyone have a solution for this?

​@Vindö16 I am having exactly the same issue! I need to ‘break link to paragraph style’ as when I copy text with applied styles into a new document the fonts get changed for some reason. If I break the link then the fonts remain correct.

So in order to avoid this glitch I tried to set up a keyboard shortcut to save time but then that also glitches 😂

Anyone found a fix? (currently running Indesign 21.5 on Mac mini OS Tahoe 26.3.1) 

To answer ​@rob day ‘s question, the break links works fine from the paragraph styles menu it just won’t work as a keyboard shortcut.

Thanks for the details and sorry to hear about the experience. I tested this behavior in InDesign 21.5.1, and the Break Link to Style keyboard shortcut worked as expected on my end.

Could you please update to InDesign 21.5.1 and confirm whether you can still reproduce the issue?

If the issue persists, please share a screen recording showing the complete workflow, including how you assign the keyboard shortcut and what happens when you use it.

Seeing the issue in action would help us better understand the behavior and identify what might be different in your setup.

    Hi @Vindö16 , Does it happen if you use the UI’s Paragraph/Character Styles panel’s flyout menu, or only when you use a key command set via Keyboard Shortcut>Panel Menus>Paragraph Styles: Break Link to Style?
