Mac accessibility bugs?

Has anyone been able to get the Mac accessibility functions to work when indesign is open? I broke my hand and I'm trying to use the accessibility that's available in the system, but when I'm using indesign all the drop downs don't work right. For example when I select either by voice or mouse the " document setup" under File, the print booklet dialogue opens instead. When I click in the font drop down, I'm not able to scroll to anything. If I try to type in the font name, it defaults to myriad. Not a single drop down or menu works right. If I tell accessibility to sleep, it makes no difference and still doesn't work. The only way to fix it is by completely turning off the accessibility on my computer, which I'm using to type everything so that's a problem. Has anyone been able to get accessibility working in indesign?

So today, April 3, my preference is corrupted again. So it's been almost 3 days of use. There's obviously an issue between using Mac accessibility is an the an design preferences. For example, I'm trying to paste in place and instead I'm getting "menu customization" pop up. I tried to get there by clicking and I tried to get there by using my arrow keys and they both cause the menu customization pop up. I was also trying to open a file and it kept opening different files instead. I'll reset my preferences again but obviously this is an issue.

If you feel there is a bug in the way InDesign is handling Mac accessibility issues, I suggest log a bug on the InDesign User Voice website.:

This location is regularly viewed by product managers and engineers. Others can vote for your reported bug to increase the likelihood it will be dealt with.

@trinaw31544424, sorry to hear about these bugs.

As you log the bugs at UserVoice, please make sure it's clear that you're talking about the accessibility of the software itself, not accessibility of PDFs and other files that InDesign makes.

Your situation is an inaccessible user interface, which is related but different from accessibility tools for accessible PDFs that Adobe is used to dealing with.

Does the same happen when you use Acrobat or other Adobe software programs?

How about in Word and other office software apps?

Which Apple OS are you using?

And what is the version and build number of InDesign?

How do I reset my preferences again and for now the bug is gone. But since it started when I activated accessibility issues I'm worried it will corrupt them again. I'll keep an eye on it see how it goes.

Voiceover is not always accurate. I did reset my preferences again.
