MAJ + ALT + CLIC doesn't work

Hi!

Something happened during the night. When I opened InDesign CC this morning and tried to adapt the size of an image with maj + alt + clic as I used to, it didn't work. Instead of modifying the proportions like it used to, it simply modifies the size of the box.

Can someone please help me with that?

Many thanks!

Hi Vicky:

Again, it is most likely a conflict with another application. Did you read the threads I linked to above? Are you using an anti-virus application or an anti-malware application, or both? You have to play detective here to figure out which application is causing the conflict.

Also, take a look at the programs that load automatically when you boot your computer. You can disable them, reboot, only open InDesign and see if the problem persists.

Hi Virginie:

We have had lots of reports that keyboard shortcuts suddenly stop working—and it seems to always come down to another application interfering with the modifier keys.

  1. Reboot your computer and only open InDesign. Are the shortcuts working again?
  2. Pay attention to what application suddenly makes them stop working. Also, consider the applications that auto-load when you reboot. Webroot has been frequently cited as a problem.

Hi Virginie,

do you mean you wanted to change the size of the frame plus its contents proportionally from the center of the selected frame by dragging one of the eight handles of the frame with Cmd + Shift + Alt ( Mac OS X ) or Ctrl + Shift + Alt ( Windows ) ? And it did not work anymore? What's your OS and your keyboard layout?

Regards,
Uwe

Yes, and when I the command to resize, the shape doesn't change anymore, just the size of the box. I'm on Windows and I have a QWERTY keyboard. I've tried to desinstall the app, I've tried rebooting my computer, I've tried to close any other apps, but none of these things have worked.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks,

Vicky
