Master pages causing crash in Templates

Hello,

Im creating an indt templates, order of my work is to create graphic for A4 page.. When everything is done, I create an alternate layout (from my A4 design) with US letter size.. So my template can have different sizes.. I did few templates already and everything was fine, but now, when I want to create alternate layout from my design, ID crashes and I can not continue in my work..

Maybe its beacuse few times my ID crashes and it corrupt the file I dont know.. I installed a version 14 from my 15.01 and now its working..

But besides this, the master pages still doing problems, while working in Master pages, ID often freezes or crashes down.

Maybe its my fault that Im putting the ID to heavy load when I want a alternate layout? Also I want mention that my indt file have very simple graphic, few icons and one image, also working in "fast display" performance.

does anyone have similar experiences?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. In addition to what Steve suggested correctly, I'd recommend open the file as a copy once to check if that helps.

Also, if you have saved this file on network, try saving it on local drive first and then try to use it.
Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Ashutosh

Thank you very much for feedback! But none of this helped, I deleted an placeholder image, swicthed a fast display performance and try to make an alternate layout, and everything goes smoothly..

btw: I wanted to restore all preferences and default settings, Tip from Steve_Werner,  but nothing happened when aj press Shift+Ctrl+Alt while the Indesign was opened..

So now its working, maybe my computer is bugging while I trying to do alterante layout with quality images.

I'd suggest the standard troubleshooting way to start:

(1) If it's one particular file which is causing the problem, it could be corruption in the file. Choose File > Save As and save as IDML, then reopen the IDML file into InDesign.

(2) If it's more than one file, restore your InDesign preferences, Here's how:
