Menu bar functions Window and Help failure

The above mentioned functions do not stay on the screen so that the sub menu points cannot be selected. After a second the cursor jumps to the File menu point and opens this one. Any idea what can be done? Thanks in advance.

What is the resolution of both monitors? Is there scaling set in the operating system settings? If so, what is it?

If there is O/S scaling set, what is the UI scaling set to in InDesign?

What build of Windows are you using? There were improvements introduced in 1709 (Fall Creators Update).

    Not enough info:

What version of InDesign? What operating system? Have you tried trashing your preferences, (Troubleshooting 101: Replace, or "trash" your InDesign preferences )

Screen shots might help us, too.

Thanks - Apologies, it's the first time I am using this service.

    INDD Version: CC 2018

    Operating system: Windows 10

    No preferences set, I believe.

Screen shot is difficult because the menu frames disappear as soon as another command is hit. But what happens is when the WINDOW menu is open (see screen shot) I cannot use the drop down menu. As soon as I move the cursor it jumps to the FILE menu and opens it. Same thing with menu HELP.

i just updated CC 2018 yesterday and hoped that the problem would be resolved but it is persisting. Thanks for your help.

Are you using an uHD (ultra high definition/res) monitor, possibly with a lower-res monitor attached?
