Might be a easy question

I have tried everything to get the blue around the white text to go away. I've watched tutorials, and I've changed my settings. It still will not go away. Please help!

Great teamwork here, helping you get to the bottom of this. I'm summarizing the situation in this video. Note that InDesign is a very robust application, so yes, it will feel frustrating until you understand how it works.

  1. The blue is the Style Override Highlighter. Turn it off.
  2. The Darken Blending mode is activated for the frame. Clear all Effects.
  3. The pink is the missing font. Select all of the text and assign a font you have installed.
  4. The text is white on a white background. Change the color to black or any other dark color.

Can you reset the type? Throw away the problem layer.

Is this gradient highlighting happening with all text that you are setting? If it is just this particular text then please provide complete details as to how this particular text was created. Also include what version of InDesign and what operating system that you are using.

I just made a text box and when I type it has a blue highlight around the text. I am using a template as well. My InDesign version says 17.4 x 64? I hope that is the correct information.

How about sharing the file here, so that someone can have a look at whats going on here. It seems you are just starting on this document so there should be no problem sharing it i suppose
