Missing Font

Hello, I have an issue with opening an indd file that has separate links and fonts folders. When I open the file, I get an error message concerning the links, but that seems to work itself out as the image is displayed correct, but I also get the font missing error. InDesign shows me the name of the missing font, I assume that data is embedded in the file? I click on substitute but the new font is not exactly the same, and the text no longer fits in the text boxes that are embedded in the image. On the right in the text tab, I do see the correct name of the font, how can this be if at the bottom I get the font missing error? The font is true type Autobus Bold, I tried putting it in the fonts folder but that does not seem to do anything.

It's Windows, I don't seem to have a separate InDesign folder, the app is launched from the Creative Cloud Desktop.

When you launch the app from Creative Cloud, it is a shortcut, but there is an InDesign folder in the Program folder. Anyway, there is another way: open the fonts folder which have been sent to you (by the way, how many font files do you see in this folder?) select the font file(s) and right click > Install. The font(s) will be installed in the Windows font folder, then relaunch InDesign.

Well, you do have a folder with the name Adobe InDesign 2022 for example when you installed InDesign 2022.

To launch InDesign from the CC Desktop App is just a convenience, a shortcut. Check your personal preferences in the CC Desktop App to see the default installation path of your CC applications.

From my German Windows 10 machine:

The default installation path is editable. By default InDesign and all other CC apps are installed on your C: disk.

Below you see that I changed that for my purposes:

Taking another point; you say you get a message about links, but assume it's ok because you can see the pictures anyway. Sorry, no. What you see may be just low quality screen grabs made do you can work without the linked graphics. You have to actually solve this one too...

the graphics do look pixaleted when working on them, but pressing shift + w they are razor crisp and appear so on print...

oh, I get a prompt links may be missing or modified, I click to solve and the links tab seen on screen shows me a small thumbnail of both links. On that note, I see multiple layers with text boxes, each with their label, but I can't figure out how to actually input any text in them. When the font was missing, I got error prompts and could input text in them, but now they are gone...

Can you post a screenshot? It is not very clear.

Did you receive this InDesign file from another person? Did you receive a package folder containing a Links folder and a Document fonts folder?

When I type in the text boxes that are in the file, on the right there's a sidebar that shows the font, size, spacing and other options. It shows the Autobus Bold font there, but when I click to scroll the available fonts, it's not on the list. I received this file from a graphics designer, it has two folders with it, Links and Fonts. The links file has a psd and a tif file.

Please can you post a screenshot of this “sidebar”?

What does contain the Fonts folder? How is this folder named? Exactly named.
