Question

More copy/paste in InDesign

Hi, would you like to know if you have a copy manager specifically for Indesign? I'm looking for more copy / paste options. It doesn't work well with images with separate programs (example: Copy 'Em)! Thanks for help, Attila

Hm. If you are looking for shortcuts or other means to automate this:

InDesign library files *.indl are totally scriptable with ExtendScript. Placing snippet files as well. CC Libraries are not.

And you could share *.indl files or snippet *.idms files on your own servers.

Hi Attila,

look into the Content Collector tool and its features:

https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/linked-content.html

Also think about the features of InDesign libraries and CC Libraries to store image assets. More details here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/reusing-graphics-text.html#use_object_libraries

https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/creative-cloud-libraries-sync-share-assets.html

From where do you want to copy images?

How do you want to paste images in InDesign?

Are you aware that images are best linked, not embedded into InDesign?

For better answers we need more informations.

Thanks for the answer!

We have been working in InDesign for 8 years, of course we know the images are linked. Within a document, 4-5 images should be copied one after the other and then inserted over and over again, alternately. Copy / paste can normally memorize an image, we want more at once. We should copy 1. 2. 3. 4. ... image (example: icons: red, blue, green, etc.) and then use a key combination to paste the appropriate one. We bought a program (Copy 'Em) that works great, but unfortunately it doesn't paste a linked image into InDesign, but as a "pasted graphic" on layer. This is our problem.
Best regards, Attila

Do you use the content tools? That is waht they are made for and they are in the tool panel. When you click on them the convoyer opens and offers you several possiblities.
