More issues with indesign 2022

I know this is a user forum but can I just say this release is the most buggy I think I have ever experience with CC. At least they continue to charge us full value though.

Today's issues with a colleague.

Opening a document with missing fonts. We think indesign is attempting activate them but something goes wrong and there fore the document does not open. Force quitting and relaunching the document then opens and the fonts are activated.

Dynamic Spelling

It just dson't work! We can write some nonsense and its not underlined as a spelling mistake making it useless.

Any thoughts on these two?

Windows 10, powerful computer, it aint the hardware.

Our entire department is lamenting updating to Creative Cloud 2022. It's HORRIBLE. Consistently having to force-quit because INDD hangs on saving. We have to watch the modification date in the folder and then force-quit to exit INDD. Also we constantly have link modification issues when links haven't been touched. Acrobat is unstable...also constantly having to force-quit and it consistently won't let us save over a file saying it's in use even though the entire application has been killed. This is a sickening update. If you're not on 2022 don't do it.

Through your Creative Cloud management app, roll back to 2022 ver 17.1, or 2021 ver 16.4.2, or whatever earlier version that ran well for you and is available through your CC subscription.

Thank you. We thought of that. Had a department meeting about it in fact. Unfortunately, we have thousands of products in 28 languages, many of which are created or modified with 2022 by our stable of designers. We cannot easily drop back to another version when the alternative is converting all the work we've done and dealing with the issues with that process – and there are issues that come up with converting files especially in languages. Also, at least for Acrobat, we cannot drop back. Won't let us overwrite the 2022 version; believe me we did try. I did drop back to an earlier version of 2022 INDD because of the glitches I encountered. Didn't help. Please just hear me: It's been months of frustration with CC 2022. It is, as the OP stated, the buggiest version any of us in our department has ever worked on, and we all have been in the industry 20+ years, most of us switching from QuarkXPress or Pagemaker to InDesign when it came out. With 2022 it's a daily struggle just to get a simple project completed with the laundry list of bizarre behavior in CC.

I am having some really annoying issues in Indesign 2022. My drop down menus will not work unless i double click and hold... and the dropdown when it eventually appears does not go away ( once i use the same process to get another drop down window ) I cannot right click to edit tables... I work in finance and i need to have these issues fixed ASAP. What are my alternatives? Read online, reset preferences, that did not work. I just need some definitive way of resolving this as my work is extremely time sensitive. PLEASE HELP

Sounds like there could be background interference at the input device level. Have you tried rebooting the computer?

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing the version of the InDesign? Do you see this behavior while working on a specific file?

I'd request you to follow the suggestions on this community post & let us know if it helps to improve the performance of the app.

Regards,

Ashutosh

What iOS are you working on, have you done all the updates and fixes through Adobe CC?
