Move pages with track changes

Hello,

When we move a page from one document to another the track changes on the moved page are lost. Is there a way to keep them.

Thanks.

This might help - I just dragged the story to the desktop to create a Snippett

And I dragged that into a new document.

The Track Changes remained!

Hmm. This is new to me, but there might be a way! Are you moving the page using a script? Changes belong to Stories, so you could try moving the story. I'll do a quick test in a bit and edit this post. - Mark

I don't see a way for this to happen. As the 'track changes' only tracks changes made in the document.

You can test this by closing all documents and go to Type>Track Changes and turn it on.

Then open your document - and your new document.

Move the pages to the new document

Track changes for that document now include the whole text as a tracked change.

Perhaps it can be scripted @m1b  or @rob day might know.
