MSO states do not animate

Hello, i have a MSO that is made of two state, i want to animate the states. but as soon as i add animations, they disappear.

here is the first one, i want this state to fly in from left upon page load:

and i want this state to fade in upon state load:

each state had a button that will make it go to the other state:

i hit preview and nothign displays: 

now if i don't do animations. it all works great. i just would like to add a little animation to make it look nicer. what am i doing wrong? i do see that the "load on page" and "load on state" are not available for me to select, but i dont' know why.
