Question

Multi level numbered list is incorrect

Can someone help me with the second level numbering on this doc please - page 5 onwards? After 2. Interest and Charges, the next level should be 2.1 not 1.4. I have clearly something set up wrong in the paragraph styles but I am not sure what.

Any advice very gratefully appreciated!

Your NUMBERING ParaStyle - 1st level - uses wrong "list":

Hello, this is the RoboHelp forum, not the inDesign forum, so you've posted in the wrong place. I've never used this style of numbering in inDesign and I'm not figuring it out myself either. Off the top of my head, I suspect that you can't do what you're trying to do.

Can I ask why you're using inDesign to create what appears to be a technical document? inDesign is a page layout tool usually used for short marketing-style materials. I suspect you've chosen the wrong tool for your project.

At any rate, I recommend you post this question to the inDesign forum instead. https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/ct-p/ct-indesign?page=1&sort=latest_replies&lang=all&tabid=all

Moved over now @David Kinyon - in fact, ID has been adding a lot of functions that support long-form tech docs.

Interesting. Well, from my ten seconds of testing, it doesn't appear to be possible to do this particular style of long-form technical docs, but I am hardly an ID expert! 🙂

Looking at what you've attached, I think you're working in InDesign, not RH - let me move this thread over there.

What version of RoboHelp are you using?
