Multiple Excel Docs merges into InDesign

I have used the Data Merge feature in InDesign and it works well but I will have projects that pull information from more than 1 Excel doc. 

 

Is there a script to do this or can it only pull from 1 Excel doc?

    Why not combine multiple Excel files together?

    Wow I never thought of that. Hmm You are a genius! 

     

    Because I have different excel docs with different information and it would be easier to be able to import from multiple excel docs than to build a new single form.

     

    You would think that something like this would have been figured out but I guess not.

    Even if your Excel docs are different - they can't be too different - otherwise you would've to create completely different templates for DataMerge? 

     

    There should be fields / columns that have the same kind of information - so you can create an Excel document that will combine all other. 

     

    And at the same time you can optimise / rebuild / reformat your data. 

     

    Can you describe in more details what exactly are you doing - can be on priv if you prefer.
