Multiple Records

When I do a data merge of a csv file the data displays as it should with multiple records.  At this point I only have one page.  When I insert another page and try to do a data merge the option to do multiple records is not available

Adobe's help site does explain this, but it's quite far down the page. The site is here: https://helpx.adobe.com/au/indesign/using/data-merge.html

 However, if you set your data up on one page AND there are enough records to fill out several pages, data merge will populate additional pages.

    Not really clear what the end goal is here.

    On page 2 you haven't setup any data merge fields like you have on page 1.

     

    On page 1 when you are inserting the multiple records it says it will generate multiple pages. 

     

    Why add the 2nd page?
