Image is 100% Black. Text is 100% Black.

Underlying box set to 50% yellow.

Image and text boxes set to multiply.

Resulting color for image: 100% K and 50% Y.

Resulting color for text: 100%K and 75% Y.

Why the difference ?

    Hi Rudi,

I can confirm what you see.
It seems that color [Black] which by default is overprinting makes the difference here.

If you use a different color for your text like 0C 0M 0Y 100K you will see the same result you see with your placed image:

    50Y 100K and not 75Y 100K.

    Regards,
    Uwe

The strange thing is that all InDesign objects, text, stroke or fill where 100 [Black] is applied will result in 75Y 100K wheras a gray scale TIFF colored with 100 [Black] will result in 50Y 100K when multiplied.
