My character palette is missing in InDesign CC

My character palette isn't loading properly. I've tried all the basic stuff: restarting my system, making sure my software is up to date, etc.

Is this a known bug? How do I fix it?

Blank panels are almost always caused by corrupt preferences. Reset them and you should be good to go.
