My saved work suddenly disappeared from the app and recents. And when I try to open the document from finder it gets stuck on "Open 1 documents" the bar doesn't load. (macOs)

Is there any way to retrieve my file if it is corrupted and not opening?

    Hi @Jasraj.D,

I hope you're doing well and that expert’s suggestions helped resolve the issue.

I'm just checking in to see how things are going. Were you able to recover or open the document successfully? Has the issue been resolved, or are you still experiencing the same behavior when trying to open the file from Finder?

If you're still running into problems, please share an update on what you're seeing now, along with your InDesign and macOS versions, and we'll be glad to take a closer look.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks,
    Abhishek

work suddenly disappeared from the app and recents

Can you please elaborate on this… I understand that your files disappeared from the recent list, but what do you mean by “disappeared from the app”?

What are your InDesign and macOS versions?

when I try to open the document from finder it gets stuck

Do you have this problem with all documents or only specific ones?

Also, I know you mentioned the Finder. Are your files stored on your local drive or a cloud storage like Dropbox? If the latter, then you can retrieve an earlier saved version of your file. Otherwise, hopefully you’re running Time Machine (or another incremental backup system) so you can retrieve an earlier version of the file.

There are also other ways to try to recover corrupted files. I’m just posting this AI search answer as it’s correct:

Adobe does not have a dedicated, official support page to instantly process corrupted InDesign files, though they review damaged files via idfile@adobe.com. For guaranteed, faster turnarounds and proven recovery rates, users rely on paid third-party tools and services like Markzware.

    Third-Party Recovery Services & Software!

    • Markzware DTP File Recovery Service!: This is the industry-standard paid recovery service for damaged InDesign (INDD) files. They charge a small intake fee plus a recovery fee depending on the file size, and they boast a high success rate even when native Adobe recovery fails.
