Hello everyone, since the update, my workspace that I set up is no longer being saved and gets reset every time I restart. What could be the reason for this?

Hi @Christian29925309yf97,

Thanks for sharing the details. I tested this on my end but wasn't able to reproduce the issue. However, I've reached out to the product team to check on this and will update you once I have more information.

In the meantime, please try manually resetting your InDesign preferences once to see if that helps. You can follow the steps here: https://adobe.ly/47JrvG4.

Additionally, you can also try the suggestion mentioned in this discussion: https://adobe.ly/47ro6gg.

Looking forward to hearing if this helps.

Thanks to everyone — resetting the preferences and creating my workspace outside of an open document solved the problem.

Hi Christian,

I am experiencing this, too. Doing a thorough reset brings it back to working, but the problem just comes back after a while. I'm actively looking for a method to cure this, but haven't found one yet.

I have now deleted and recreated all workspaces, which helps only partially, because now the History panel opens even though it is not saved in the workspace.

Let's start with a few more details:

  1. What OS are you using and what version of InDesign?
  2. Does InDesign has rights to write to the the folder were workspaces are saved? (We can tell you where they are saved after you tell us your OS.)
  3. Is InDesigned installed locally, or are you accessing it via a VPN?
  4. After setting it up, are you choosing Window > Workspace > New Workspace?
  5. After saving it, are you exiting InDesign normally with File > Exit or InDesign > Quit InDesign?

Hello, I’m using version 21.0 on Windows 11. InDesign is installed locally, and the workspace is located here C:\Users\Mohnc\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign\Version 21.0\de_DE\Workspaces . InDesign has write permissions, but when I completely close InDesign, the workspace gets reset.
