need neccassary plugin program to upload pictures

Hi! When I try to insert pictures from my computer in InDesign it says that a neccassary plugin-program is missing to be able to do that. I've tried different type of files but nothing works. Does someone know wich plugin program I have to download to be able to insert pictures/photos in InDesign?
