No corruption error message - can't open file - indesign freezes on load
Here is my problem:
I've tried accessing the file using both Windows and OSX. The following scenarios happened on both OS as well.
I've worked on this file all day, saved it multiple times during the day, worked without a problem and saved it .indd format as normally would. Closed the file after exporting to PDF to make a 1st draft of the work for client's approval. Went to open the file again and indesign doesn't load it. There is no error message, no corrup file error message, or indication that anything is wrong other than the absurd amount of time it seems to be "loading".
I've closed indesign and then indesign freezes. I restart computer, try again, have to open and close indesign a couple of times before it's working properly.
On Windows, the "missing files" dialog appears (because I just transfered the file and not the resources to try and see if it was a local issue rather than a file issue) I hit "OK" on the missing files dialog and it freezing, again apparently "loading".
- I've cleaned the corrupt file preferences on both OS.
- I've tried opening as copy.
- I've opened and closed the program
- I've restarted the computer
- I've tested with other files
Anyone has any idea of what might be causing this and how to fix it? I've opened other files, much bigger files and on all files it's working fine. This particular file size is 19MB.
#1 Fun fact: the PDF exported, when opened on illustrator loses typefont, which should happen seeing as I tried that on the same computer the file was made on, and the typefont should exist.
#2 Fun fact: as I type this, the file has been "opening" for 15 minutes. CPU usage around 15% and memory around 500mb.
