Not InDesign related...Image re-use permissions/licensing related question...
Hi everyone, I just have NO idea on where to find the exact answer for this but know that the BEST PEOPLE who could answer this question would be all of YOU ![]()
I have a client who is adamant about using an image that he found online for the back cover of his product catalog. Normally I would never use something that was found online unless I found the original source/photographer and got their permission. I am usually able to find out where an image originated, or whether we can repurchase it from a stock photo library by doing a reverse search.
I did a reverse search for this image and found it has been used in LOTS of online articles about tractor trailers ... and then also found the image on a Background Wallpaper library HERE. My personal thoughts are that it would STILL be risky to use the image, even if it is freely available here to use as a wallpaper background (but I think it would be available for personal use only) but I would like to hear YOUR thoughts as well if possible?
Thank you for your time ![]()
