Numbers side by side in InDesign Numbering List

Hi

I have a numbering list which is currently like this:

1.This is item one

2. This is item two

3.This is item three

4.This is item four

5.This is item five

I want to span the list in two columns which is working fine but the requirement is that the list should appear like this:

1.This is item one         2.This is item two

3. This is item three      4.This is item four

5.This is item five

Is there any option in InDesign which can do this ?

Depends on the length of the list itself and length of each line - multiple two-column TextBoxes linked together. It maybe quicker to achieve than converting text into table 😉

The only solution I know of is to use a table. Paragraphs will number across each row and then continue numbering in the next. Limiting in format possibilities, I know, but tables are often the only way to apply horizontal layout.

You can of course turn off all cell and table strokes to make the table invisible, and the cell spacing and alignment can be used (along with the paragraph style) to optimize the visual proportions of the layout.

Thanks for the tip James.

I will surely use tables.

Thanks once again.
