First, I'm aboslutely no expert and just started using InDesign, so my question may be very naive and I apologize.
I'm working on old documents which use Sabon (T1). I activated the Sabon font I found in Adobe Fonts but the T1 are still considered missing when I open the documents.
Should I update all the styles to use the "new" Sabon or can I find the old T1 somehow?

InDesign fortunately recognizes that there might be incompatibilities between fonts with the same name but a different format (i.e., Type 1, TrueType, OpenType CFF, and OpenType TrueType). Some differences might be in the available glyphs, the metrics, or even the shapes of the glyphs. Using a different font may result in differences in visual appearance and/or line layout.
Unless you have a licensed copy of the old Sabon Type 1 font, you pretty much need to migrate to the OpenType version of Sabon found with Adobe Fonts (or separately license the font from any one of many font foundries).
Even if you do find your original Sabon Type 1 font, it would be very prudent to migrate to OpenType ASAP as Adobe support for Type 1 fonts will be diminished in the future.
