Question

Opacité d'une couleur d'un dégradé

Bonjour,

Merci,

You may be thinking of Effects > Gradient Feather that allows you to set opacity, but this method does not allow selecting various colors.

Hi @GeeK Reverse,

I see where the confusion comes from. Unlike Photoshop or Illustrator, InDesign's Gradient panel doesn't let you set opacity on individual gradient stops. The only way to adjust transparency is through the Effects panel, which affects the entire object. A common workaround is to build your gradient with the colors you want and then apply transparency to the object or layer to achieve the fade effect. Could you give that a try and let me know if it gets you closer to what you need?

I completely understand how useful this functionality would be, and I’m sorry it isn’t available right now. It would be great if you could share this as a feature request on UserVoice (https://adobe.ly/4nmNvNC). Adding your feedback there helps the team prioritize it, and you’ll also get notified when there are updates.

Looking forward to hearing your observations.

Merci,
Je suis passé par une autre méthode car cela ne correspondait pas à mon besoin.
J'ai dû réalisé un visuel avec illustrator (ou photoshop) puis l'importer dans indesign.

Hi @GeeK Reverse , Not sure if this helps, but here is a visual illustrating @Jeffrey_Smith , and @Abhishek Rao suggestions. How to create a Gradient Swatch, set the needed transparency stops via Gradient Feather Tool, and set its Angle and Type via the Gradient Swatch Tool panel.

Set any number of transparency stops:

Set Type and Angle, or drag out to set the gradient angle and length:

I think InDesign’s more complex approach is because, unlike AI and PS, an ID doc can contain a mix of RGB, CMYK, and Lab colors. The other apps have a single color space.
