Open Centered Please Adobe

This happens every single time... Why can't you open the document centered or place the document to the top left.

Is there a setting to NOT have your document open WAY to the right everyone time you open one?

You can easily recreate the behaviour Anna is talking about.

    1. Create a new A4-document.
    2. Change the view to 100% (or any other percentage, just not filling the window).
    3. Save and close the document.
    4. Open the document again and the view is not centered anymore, it's always shifted to the right side...

What you are seeing is a view centered on the spread.

Is this a single-page document? If so, turn off Facing Pages in the document setup. You can also do this is your document is only two pages - for anything longer, you will usually want to work in spreads.

even with single page docs and non-facing pages, it centers them on the pasteboard, not the available space so it's always tucked under the tools. ALWAYS. As a GD I am annoyed with this feature, I like things neat

it's something that has been bugging me for 10 years or so. See my screenshot- there is plenty of room to just scooch it left. It would be NICE if the software was smart enough to place the document where it visually made sense. Can anyone share this with Adobe? is there a suggestion box?

Doesn't (Mac) Command + 0 / (PC) Control + 0 offer what you want (in part)?

yes, I have to center ever document every time. This is more of a note to the developers, something they should change to make it better. I have been using ID every day since 2001 and it just bugs me... it ALWAys under the tools and if I could I'd fix it myself.
