Open type symbol appears on text boxes How do you delete these

On opening IND CC 2017 this morning, I have noticed a blue  Open Type symbol has started to appear at the bottom of the text boxes in my InDesign files.

How do I stop this, as not sure why I need it to appear

    Short answer: InDesign Preferences > Advanced Type > uncheck "Show Adornment on Text Selection/Text Frame...."

    Thanks. Also driving me crazy. Adobe needs to stop changing the UI every update.
