I’m sharing it to help raise awareness and hopefully push the discussion forward in a constructive way. This feature has the potential to be genuinely useful and even excellent, especially for accessibility workflows, but it needs to be implemented with proper user control, review and approval.

For production environments, alt text is not harmless background metadata. It is content that may be read, exported, translated, checked and relied on by real people. That means it needs to be accurate, intentional and auditable.

The goal should not be to remove the feature. The goal should be to make it truly workable, reliable and professional the kind of feature it clearly has the potential to be.
