Option-drag and drop crashes indesign

Question

It is as simple as it sounds. When I attempt to option-drag to copy an object, indesign crashes. I can copy & paste, but not option-drag. I recently deleted preferences for some other buggy issue (always annoying to lose preferences), but this issue persists.

I am running InDesign 2025 on an M1 mac, Sonoma, 16 gb ram.

I’ve come across similar reports, and the product team has mentioned that this issue is addressed in the latest pre-release build. You might want to check out these discussions where others faced the same problem:
