Option key on Mac no longer working in InDesign 21.6

Ok, it was Enpass. Deactivating it fixed it. There seems to be a bug in Version 6.12.6. 

Installed the latest update and will test if this was fixed.

There are a gazillion apps that interfere with modifier keys. This list here is most probably incomplete:

• WhatsApp on the web being the active tab in the browser
• WebRoot
• Apple Terminal 
• Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• »Enable Full Keyboard« in Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard on Mac OS
• »Keyboard Navigation« in Apple settings > Keyboard 
• Apple Mail, Outlook
• Spacebar is used as a shortcut by the system
• Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari
• Wacom Desktop Center, Wacom settings
• Windows Touch Pad problem
• LastPass, Bitwarden (password managers)
• The VPN
• LangSwitcher app (it needs to be closed and disabled)
• Notes

Thanks for clarifying the behavior and sorry to hear that you experience this issue. 

I tested the same workflow in InDesign 21.6, with the Type Tool active inside a text frame, and Option + mouse drag worked as expected, allowing me to pan the document without selecting text. I wasn't able to reproduce the issue on my end.

To help narrow this down, could you please confirm your exact macOS version and whether you're using a mouse or trackpad?

As the expert suggested, please try testing in macOS Safe Mode to rule out interference from third-party keyboard or mouse utilities.

For the Paragraph Styles issue, could you also check whether clearing overrides through the Paragraph Styles panel's context menu works correctly?

Just to make sure: are referring to Zooming in/out while holding Option and using the scroll wheel? Or is it something else?

If so, then it can happen if some other app or utility hijacks the Option key. Try to boot in safe mode and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then it’s mots likely the case.
