Outlining Script Fonts in InDesign

I am trying to outline a script font in InDesign.  The result looks good except the weird loops created where the script font connects. How can I get rid of those?

I am using the bello script font.

I took a short class for InDesign, but I am really a novice.

Thank you

Outline it or add a stroke to it? Important distinction.

    Hi Thea,

if you need a word in the Bello font in outline vector paths the best tools to fix the issues come with Adobe Illustrator.

Maybe you'd even need not to convert the text to vector paths to achieve the desired design when using Adobe Illustrator instead of InDesign. You could do your design with Illustrator, save an artboard as PDF or save the Illustrator file with PDF and place it as graphic on your InDesign page.

Can you show a screenshot of the desired design?

( And showing the issues you have with glyph connections. )

    Regards,
    Uwe

You converted it to outlines. Why?

You could have easily applied a swatch to the text to create the color fill.

    What is the difference?

Adding a stroke leaves the font completely intact. Converting to curves destroys it.

Why are you outlining the font? Generally, that's not a good idea, and is not necessary.

To modify the letter shapes? Because someone told you you needed outlines for printing?

Maybe I should have done a stroke instead of outlining.
