Hi,

Let say I have different fruits - peach, lemon, apple, kiwi and orange. Their order is the same as I shown and each page shows only 1 fruit.

I would like to export two PDFs base on the same file.

The first PDF contain all fruits, total page number is 5.

The second PDF contain only three fruits, which are peach, apple and orange and total page number is 3. I would like Indesign delete the blank page automatically so page 1 is peach, page 2 is apple and page 3 is orange. Hide/Show layers will always leave blank page so it is not work on my case.

Just wondering can we do this in Indesign? Or, the better way is to seperate the original file into two files?

Thanks.

If you delete the unneeded pages in the InDesign file, export the PDF and then revert the file the page numbers (assuming that you're using autonumbering) will be correct in the PDF. Since you've reverted the file after exporting it is ready to go for any other combination of fruit that you're looking to export.

Thanks for the reply.

Is there any way I can alway switch between outputing Result 1 and Result 2? The simplest way is to delete the blank  pages and prepare the layout for Result 2. However, If I have to switch it back to Result 1, I have to re-organise everything for Result 1. Is there any tricks (scripts in Indesign?) I can easily switch for different outputs?

Easiest way is to just enter the page range or export the entire file and do it in Acrobat.

If you enter the page range/ do it in Acrobat for result 2 in the original file, the page number still keep the same, which would be page 1, 3 and 5. You have to manually change every page numbers. That is not what I want.

By the way, thanks for the reply.
