Question

Overlay Bar

I am working in Adobe InDesign CC version 14.0.1 on a double screen setup. After launching and working in the program for a minute or two, the Overlay Bar will will appear spanning both monitors. There is no way to close out of the filter other than going up into the menu under "WINDOW" and selecting "OVERLAY". Within a few seconds to a few minutes, the bar will once again return. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so, do you have any helpful solutions? Curious if it is a known bug in the software. Thank you for any support or insight!

Not sure you are needing it since its back in 2019 but you right click on the bar and it gives you options to remove.

Hi Kirsten,

Sorry to hear about this issue. As Bob said, it would be great if you can few screenshots of the issue along with the following details:

  • OS(Exact version of Windows/MAC)
  • Exact version of Illustrator
  • Does trashing InDesign Preferences(Set preferences in Adobe InDesign ) help resolve the issue? Please take a backup of the same before trashing them.

Regards,

Srishti
