Hello,

In the office there a large indesign doc that is being passed arround - numerous people are adding media to the file, packaging it and then passing it on.

However, I have noticed that some media, by some a lot, of media is missing.

What cuases some images to not be packaged and some to be packaged, for example on my work PC all images are linked nothing missing yet, the packaged file is missing a lot if images.

They are sorced from different places, some my work desktop, others on company servers etc does this cuase the breaking - although even images from my own work pc failed to package etc

Any experience or tips useful, thanks

A probable reason: you have links on

  • the pastboard
  • hidden layer(s)
  • non-printing  layer(s)

and the Include ... links from hidden and non-printing content checkbox — OFF

Notice in this screenshot only 55 links found, out of 90 - could it be that is some images are on a server in an office etc, that InDesign package could be denied access to it etc.... not sure

What bugs me is I can find nothing consistent across the missing image files, that is some images are found which are local and other from else where

thanks

The number 90 refers to all instances of links, including images placed multiple times:

55 is the number of original images to copy:

Is it consistent with the number of individual placed images in your document?
