Package with a PDF - Crash

Indesign crashes when I try to package a document with a PDF.

I can successfully package without a PDF, but it effects my workflow and I would like this function to work.

My system is up to date:

Mac - 10.14.2

Indesign - 14.0.1

I have been given a script to work around this and create an export prior to a package without a PDF. But I would ideally like Indesign to work the way it's suppose to.

Does anyone know if this is just a 2019 bug waiting to be fixed? Or is there something I can do?

Does it crash if you are making the pdf normally?

I wrote an FAQ for files crashing on output - File Crashing on Output - printing/PDF/other

You could try the fixes listed in the post and thereafter to see if it fixes.

Normally - I'd recommend export the file to IDMl and open that - and then save to indesign - then package the file.

But if it's happening with every file it is probably a system error - in that case you should reset your preferences. Troubleshooting 101: Replace, or "trash" your InDesign preferences [2009 Outdated & Locked]

Thanks Eugene, you were right in thinking it might be a system error. Complete reset worked perfectly.

Thanks again
