Question

Page content almost completely vanishes when spread split into pages

Hi, everyone,

I am a graphic designer at a small business and I'm trying to do a catalog design - but I am running into an issue when splitting my spreads into pages so that I can output them for the printer. The majority of the catalog is fine but the table of contents completely loses most of its content so that the result is basically an empty page (screenshots included). Does anyone know why this is happening/have a fix? The only reason I can think of is that I have my page numbering order altered so that the main page count starts at the table of contents as page 1, however, I have used this catalog file with this exact same page numbering setup before and it has not been an issue previously.

Help?

There was a windows 11 update last month that caused a lot of problems (I don't have the KB number, sorry), but looking at your question again I'm wondering why you've changed from facing to non-facing pages to send to the printer? There's no need. Just export to PDF asa pages, not spreads.

The catalog will be perfect bound, and so the printer's request was for bleeds on all sides of the pages. I split my spreads because I couldn't figure out a way to export to PDF as single pages and have the bleed on the interior edge where the two pages meet in a spread. If there is a way to export as single pages and have a bleed on that inside edge that might solve my problem, however, I have no idea how to do it.

@Envisualist

It would be needed for a "saddle stitch" - but for a "perfect bound" - there is no need for extra inside bleed.
