Page render problem after scrolling

Hi! I'm experiencing page rendering issues after scrolling through documents. This problem occurs exclusively on Windows 11 systems—both on a laptop with integrated graphics and on a desktop with a dedicated Radeon GPU. The rendering behaves normally on macOS; I haven't encountered this issue on any Mac device. I am using InDesign 19.5.5.

Hi @roland_9071,

Thanks for sharing the detailed explanation and screenshots. Please ensure your Radeon GPU drivers are updated directly from AMD's website instead of through Windows Update. For testing, try updating to version 20.5 and check if the issue still occurs.

Also, please confirm if your laptop or screen resolution is below 2K, as that would explain why the GPU Performance option appears greyed out. You can learn more about this here: https://adobe.ly/4nZldZa.

Lastly, could you let me know if you're using any external monitors or if the problem only occurs on your laptop's built-in display? This will help us narrow it down further.

Looking forward to your update.
Abhishek

Do you have the same problem with InDesign 2025 (20.x), where you can also check rendering with the new (for Windows) GPU Performance preference on and off? You can install InDesign 2025 in addition to the existing 2024 installation; just make sure to uncheck the 'remove older versions' option when installing.

Hi! Thanks for your answer! I currently don't have the option to use version 20.5 because my main partner is using version 19.x, but I have installed the latest and greatest version. Unfortunately, I don't have the option to turn on the GPU, as you can see on my laptop with Radeon 7730u igp, but the problem is the same with the new version.

Ok that's important info.

Now, you said you checked it on your laptop where the GPU Performance option isn't available. Is the situation the same on your desktop?

Also, how much RAM do you have on both machines?
