Question

Pages Panel

I have a client supplied InDesign file that is in Readers Spreads... Facing Pages NOT selected. In the Page tab it shows a page spread template (A-Parent) they used for laying out the Readers Spreads so the client could view the document in page order.

How can I remove that 2 page template so the pages change to view as single pages?

Screenshot attached of a few pages in the Pages tab with "A-Parent" highlighted.

( removed content from pages for security reason)

Thank you

In order for there to be a two-page parent spread either the options for the Parent page were changed after  the file was created, or, more likely, after creation the document setup was changed from Facing to Non-facing.

I would try creating a new non-facing file, then selecting all pages in the current file and use the Move Pages command to move the tem to the new file. Be aware that if there are objects on the current Parent page they must be moved first or they will not be carried forward, and that in any case a non-facing document uses only the right half of any two-page parent.

The other option is to Uncheck Allow Document pages to Shuffle, then select one page in each two-page spread and pull it away from the spine until you see a vertical line. This will maintain any left/right Parent objects and margins while viewing single pages in the work area, though they will shift left/right as you scroll vertically.

Thank you!

I used the Move Pages option (never used that before) and that worked just fine. I have a couple pages that have art that spreads two pages, but I can easily make that adjustment.

Glad it worked for you.
