Question

Paste with all Information and Formatting

Trying to paste Text into a Main Text Frame as I have done often.
I selected "All Information..." in Clipboard Handling Preferences - as you do.

Tried everything to clear all Styles of the Textbox, Character and Paragraph Styles.

Every Time I paste, and new Style "Standard" gets created which wipes italics and sets a random font.

Just looking for all the possible explanations that can cause this, as i am stuck with copy pasting.
It works well in a new document, but not in my template in need.

How lovely to have InDesign in my life again.

This might happen if the document you're working on has become corrupted. Try saving it as an IDML file: File > Save As > InDesign CS4 or Later [IDML]. Then try opening the IDML to see if that works. This can sometimes eliminate file corruption.

Thank you, it went away for unknow reasons after deleting some very old styles imported from open office.

Then would appear again once when pasting from word.
Pasting from OpenOffice after that worked and I moved on 🙂

Hi @Florian33540297c2nt, have you played-around with the "Clipboard Handling" section of Indesign's Preferences? You could compare the settings in your problem document with the settings in your new document.
